Bus education

Riding the bus while standing up does not come with instructions.  Sure, they'll tell you how much it costs and where to pick it up and where it will bring you.

But they don't tell you how to ride it standing up. In a dress and heels.  Without landing in a stranger's lap.  That's a skill you have to develop over time.  I've been getting better at it.

Your fellow passengers are nice, but they can't help because they don't speak when they're on the bus.
The ads you get to look at don't offer any helpful tips either.
At the very least, the handles that you hold onto for dear life could offer advice such as "Hold on tight!".

I learn from each time the bus driver slams on the brakes, and slams on the accelerator.  I learn from watching my fellow passengers slam into each other. I learn by watching the passengers that don't slam into each other, and from the ones that don't get whiplash.  I watch their body positions, how they are bending their knees.  There is truly an art to riding the bus while standing.

We are on our own on this bus.  We learn as we go.
